5-step Tiptronic

Introduction

The car is completed with 5-step automatic transmission with electronic control. Switching on the raised and lowered steps is carried out automatically.

For the fuel consumption and environmental protection reasons on some updatings transmission is arranged so that the maximum speed of the car is reached only in the situation "S".

The transmission is completed also with tiptronic system. This system gives to the driver, at desire, possibility of manual switching.

The engine can be got only when finding the lever of the selector in the situation "R" or "N", see. Features of operation and auxiliary systems.

When parking out of the blue it is enough to establish the selector lever in the situation "R". At a slope of the road tighten at first against the stop the hand brake and only then transfer the selector lever to the situation "R". Thanks to it load of the mechanism of blocking decreases and the stragivaniye of the lever of the selector from the situation "R" is facilitated.

The allocated indication of the actual position of the lever of the selector is deduced on the display of a control panel.

R - lay blocking

In this situation driving wheels are blocked mechanically. This situation should be included only on the motionless car.

For installation of the lever of the selector in the situation "R" and its conclusion from this situation press the blocking button (on the selector lever) and, at the same time, a brake pedal.

R-backing transfer

At installation of the lever of the selector this situation joins backing transfer.

Transfer of a backing include only at the motionless car and at operation of the engine idling.

For installation of the lever of the selector in the situation "To" press the button of blocking and at the same time a brake pedal. At the included ignition and finding of the lever of the selector in the situation "R" backing headlights burn.

N-neutral situation (provision of idling)

This situation is the provision of idling.

D-a basic provision at advance

For transfer of the lever of the selector from the situation "R" in situation "D" at speed less than 5 km/h or the motionless car are necessary press a brake pedal.

Under certain circumstances, (for example, at movement in mountains or to the trailer) happens more preferable temporarily to be switched to the manual program of switching see below.

S-sports situation

Establish the selector lever in the situation "S" at movement in a sports mode. Later switching on the raised steps allows to use engine capacity reserves completely.

For transfer of the lever of the selector from the situation "N" in the situation "S" at speed less than 5 km/h or the motionless car press a brake pedal

At inadvertent transfer to time of movement of the lever of the selector to the situation "N" before returning to a mode "D" or "S", dump gas and wait falling of turns to an idling mode.

Blocking of the lever of the selector

Blocking of the lever of the selector prevents involuntary inclusion of a range of movement and by that spontaneous movement of the car from a place.

Cancellation of blocking is carried out as follows: Include ignition. Press a pedal of a brake and hold at the same time pressed the blocking button.

Automatic blocking of the lever of the selector

At the included ignition the lever of the selector is blocked in the situation "P" and "N". For a stragivaniye it from these provisions press a brake pedal. As a reminder to the driver when finding the lever of the selector in the provisions "R" and "N" on the display there is the following indication:

The lever of the selector is blocked only on the motionless car, and also at speed to 5 km/h. At speed approximately from 5 km/h and above there is an automatic cancellation of blocking of the lever of the selector being in the situation "N".

At fast (without pauses) transfer of the lever of the selector through the situation "N" (for example, from the situation "R" in situation "D") the lever of the selector is not blocked. It gives the chance, for example, movements "vraskachka" of the got stuck car. If the selector lever at the released pedal of a brake is more than 1 second in the situation "N", it is blocked.

Blocking button

The button of blocking of the lever of the selector interferes with involuntary transfer of the lever of the selector to some provisions. By pressing of this button the lever of the selector is deblocked.

Key blocking in the ignition lock

After ignition switching off the key can be taken from the lock only when finding the lever of the selector in the situation "R" (lay blocking).

After key extraction from the lock the lever is blocked in the situation "R".

Kick-down device

The Kick-down device allows to realize the maximum acceleration.

By sharp pressing of a pedal of an accelerator with transition of a point of resistance automatic equipment is switched, depending on turns and speed, on a low gear. Switching on the following overgear occurs right after achievement of the maximum turns of the engine corresponding to this transfer.

Dynamic program of switching (DPS)

Management of automatic transmission is carried out by electronics.

Management of automatic transmission is carried out by electronics. Switching on raised and low gears is carried out according to the programs which were stored in memory of movement.

At a reserved manner of driving automatic equipment chooses the economic program of switching.

At a temperamental manner of driving with sharp dispersals and frequent differences of speed, with use of the maximum speed or after sharp pressing a pedal of an accelerator (Kick-down) automatic equipment works in a range of sports programs. Late transition to overgears allows to realize an engine capacity stock completely. Switching on low gears is carried out at higher turns of the engine.

The choice optimum on specific conditions of the program of movement represents continuous process. However irrespective of it it is possible to be switched to more sports program, having sharply pressed an accelerator pedal. Thus the transmission is switched to the lowered step corresponding to the actual speed of movement, providing possibility of dynamic dispersal (for example, when overtaking) without necessity of sharp pressing against the stop accelerator pedals. After return switching on the raised step and at the corresponding mode of driving work on the primary program is restored.

The movement program in mountains operates a choice of transfers on liftings and descents. Thanks to it it is not required to be switched at movement to lifting. The pressing of a pedal of a brake at movement under a bias carries out switching on the lowered step. Thereof it is possible to brake the engine, without resorting to manual switching.

The Tiptronic system gives the chance to the driver of also manual gear shifting.

Switching on a manual mode

Wring out the selector lever from situation "D" to the right. At the included manual mode on the display there is an indication 5 4 3 2 1 with allocation of the transfer included at the moment.

Switching on overgears

When translating the lever of the selector forward (in the situation Tiptronic) there is a switching on overgears.

Switching on low gears

When translating the lever of the selector back (in the situation Tiptronic) there is a switching on low gears (-).

To be switched to a manual mode it is possible both during movement, and during parking.

At dispersal at 1, 2, 3 and 4 steps the box will automatically be switched to the following raised step shortly achievements of the maximum turns of the engine.

When switching from an overgear on lowered automatic switching is possible only when there is impossible an excess of the turns of the engine defined for these conditions.

At operation of the Kick-down device transmission is switched to the watching lowered step depending on speed and engine turns

Emergency program

In case of malfunction of system automatic equipment is switched to the emergency program.

At malfunction of system automatic equipment is switched to the emergency program. About it fire or extinction all segments of the display panel signals at once.

Thus it is possible to transfer the lever of the selector to all provisions. However in provisions "D" and "S" the 4th step will join.

Probably also inclusion of transfer of a backing of "R". However electronic blocking of transfer of a backing at work in emergency operation is disconnected.

In emergency operation the manual program of switching (Tiptronic) is disconnected.

Klinotsepna Multitronic® variator

Introduction

Models it is completed with besstupenchaty transmission with electronic control (Klinotsepny Multitronic® variator). Unlike usual automatic transmission the transfer number changes not step gear shifting, and is continuous. It promotes along with another to optimization of comfort of traction effort and provides optimum fuel consumption.

The choice of the corresponding transfer relation of transmission (switching on the raised and lowered ranges of movement) is carried out completely automatically, agrees to the programs which were stored in memory of movement, see below, «The dynamic program of regulation (DRP)».

The transmission is completed also with Tiptronic system. This system gives to the driver, at desire, possibility of manual switching of ranges, see below.

Maintenance instructions

On the car with Multitronic transmission communication of the engine with driving wheels, unlike usual automatic transmission, is carried out through multidisk coupling, instead of via the torque converter. As a result the car is a little less subject to spontaneous movement at short-term stops with idling the engine and the lever of the selector established in position "D", "S" or "R". Lower transfer relation of a transmission corresponding to the actual speed of movement thus joins, providing possibility of dynamic dispersal (for example, when overtaking) without necessity of sharp pressing against the stop accelerator pedals. At the subsequent switching on the raised range and the corresponding mode of driving work on the primary program is restored.

At movement on mountain roads the transfer relation is continuously brought into accord with the lifting characteristic. At movement under a bias transmission is automatically switched by pressing of a pedal of a brake to the lowered range. Thereof efficiency of braking by the engine raises.

If at movement on mountain roads it is included темпостат *, transmission automatically chooses lower transfer relation for keeping of the set speed. It conducts, however, to increase in turns of the engine.

Tiptronic mode

The manual program of switching (Tiptronic) gives the chance to the driver of manual inclusion of six programmed transfer relations (movement ranges).

The manual program of switching gives the chance manual inclusion of six programmed transfer relations (movement ranges). To be switched to a manual mode it is possible both during parking, and during movement from situation "D".

At dispersal in ranges 1, 2, 3, 4 and the 5th transmission will automatically be switched to the following raised range shortly before achievement of the maximum turns of the engine.

When switching from the raised range on lowered, automatic equipment will be switched only after there is impossible a raznosny increase in turns of the engine.

When falling speed of movement (for example, when braking) and the minimum frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine transmission will automatically be switched to the following lowered range.

Switching on the lowered ranges at movement under a bias increases efficiency of braking by the engine.

At operation of the Kick-down device transmission is switched to the following lowered range depending on speed and engine turns.

Emergency program

In case of malfunction of system automatic equipment is switched to the emergency program.

At malfunction of system automatic equipment is switched to the emergency program. About it fire all segments on the display panel signals at once.

Return indication

At a negative luminescence of indication it is possible to continue movement. However it is necessary to address on HUNDRED Multitronic® systems for check.

Blinking indication

Blinking indication testifies to serious malfunction of system. In this case carefully move on HUNDRED malfunctions for elimination.
