Applied impellent oils. Consumption of oil

Greasing of the engine is carried out by all-weather oil that does not demand seasonal change oils (summer/winter). All-weather oils are based on seasonal oil with low viscosity (for example, 10 W) and are stabilized in a hot condition by means of «the viscosity stabilizer». Thanks to it possibility of greasing both cold, and the hot engine is provided.

Designation on SAE characterizes viscosity of impellent oil.

Example: SAE 10 W 40:

10 — Viscosity of oil in a cold condition. The number less, the oil has smaller viscosity.

W — Oil is suitable for operation in the winter.

40 — Viscosity of oil in a hot condition. The more hot oil has number, the smaller viscosity.

Impellent Longlife oil

Engines of AUDI A4 cars are filled at plant with Longlife special oil. At Longlife oil application according to norms of VW, the two-year interval of service is provided.

Also usual impellent oil according to norms of VW can be applied. But in this case the interval of service should be reduced till 12 months of/15.000 km.

Types of oils are given in Specifications.

If for filling of system of greasing there is no Longlife oil, it is possible to fill in 0.5 l of impellent oil on norm of VW 502 00 (the petrol engine) or on norm 505 00/505 01 (the diesel engine), without transferring the indicator of terms of service to the situation "nicht flexibel" («not flexible»).

Consumption of oil

At internal combustion engines the consumption of oil is understood as its such quantity which is consumed owing to combustion process. It is not necessary to confuse a consumption of oil to its loss arising owing to a leakage of the pallet of a case, a cover a head of cylinders, etc.

The normal consumption of oil arises owing to combustion of a small amount of oil in cylinders, owing to branch with products of combustion and wear products. Besides, oil is lost owing to high temperatures of combustion and the high pressure, taking place at operation of the engine. The consumption of oil is influenced by also external service conditions, such as management style the car, and also admissions of manufacturing of details of the engine. The consumption of oil should not exceed 0.8 l/1000 of km.

At all do not fill in oil above Max mark. If the superfluous amount of oil was poured, it is necessary to remove it. Otherwise the catalytic converter since not burned down oil gets to release system can be damaged.
